Act to End Poverty
In 2010 Australia could finally live up to its commitment to help end global poverty. We've won enormous victories - Australia's aid effort has wiped out polio in the pacific. In 1990, 42% of the world's population lived in extreme poverty. Today it's just over 20%.
Success is possible. We can end extreme poverty. However with 1.4 billion people still living under the extreme poverty line, now is the time to recommit and do what it takes to finally end this suffering.
